James Bookert created San Gabriel as a side-project while working in an Austin, Texas liquor store. What started between tours playing banjo with his former band Whiskey Shivers quickly grew into an acclaimed synth / dream pop project.

Affectionately named after his shifts in the liquor store, San Gabriel’s debut record, Nights and Weekends, is a collection of synth forward optimistically melancholic songs, chronicling Bookert’s tackling of lost love, grief, and grappling with an uncertain future both musically and professionally.

Adult Onset Goth, the follow up EP to Nights and Weekends, and features San Gabriel’s signature dreamy synths, washy guitars, and hooky melodies.

In furtherance of our nonprofit mission, a portion of proceeds from all sales of San Gabriel’s music will be donation to Heath Alliance for Austin Musicians.
